The PECB ISO 9001 Foundation eLearning (English) training course is designed to help you learn the basic elements of implementing and managing a Quality Management System (QMS).
What is ISO 9001?
ISO 9001 is based on seven quality management principles and it aims to help organizations be more efficient and improve customer satisfaction. The requirements of ISO 9001 are applicable to any organization, regardless of its type, size, or the products or services it provides.
Published initially in 1987, ISO 9001 is the first international management system standard that specifies the requirements for the establishment, implementation, operation, maintenance, and continual improvement of a QMS in an organization.

Why Should You Attend?
This training course is designed to help you learn the basic elements of implementing and managing a QMS based on ISO 9001:2015. After completing this course, you will understand the different modules of a QMS, such as the role of top management, risks and opportunities, quality policy, processes that shape product and service provision activities, requirements for performance evaluation, and the importance of continual improvement.
The training course is followed by a certification exam. After successfully passing the exam, you may apply for a “PECB Certified ISO 9001 Foundation” certification which is UKAS accredited and internationally recognized. The certification validates your competence to implement a QMS based on the requirements of ISO 9001.
Educational approach
- This training course contains practical questions and examples related to an ISMS
- The exercises are based on a examples and discussions
- The structure of the quizzes is similar to that of the certification exam
Prerequisites
There are no prerequisites for this course.
Examination
The “PECB Certified ISO 9001 Foundation” exam fully meets the requirements of the PECB Examination and Certification Program (ECP) and covers the following competency domains:
- Domain 1: Fundamental concepts and principles of quality management and a QMS based on ISO 9001
- Domain 2: ISO 9001 requirements for a quality management system – Clauses 4 to 10

General Information
- Certification fees are included in the exam price.
- PECB will provide training material of over 200 pages of information and practical examples.
- An attestation of course completion worth 14 CPD (Continuing Professional Development) credits will be issued to participants who have attended the training course.
- In case of exam failure, the candidate can retake the exam once for free within 12 months following the initial exam date.
