The PECB GDPR Certified Data Protection Officer (DPO) eLearning (English) training course gives you the knowledge you need to function as a data protection officer in a GDPR compliance program.
What Is GDPR?
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) regulates how the personal data of EU residents is processed and transferred. It’s considered one of the world’s strictest data protection and privacy laws.
Covered organizations have been required to comply with this regulation since May of 2018. Failure to comply with this regulation can result in heavy fines and reputational damages.

Why Should You Attend?
Not complying with the GDPR can lead to harm of an organization’s credibility, reputation, and financial status. This is where your skills as a DPO come in.
This online course will help you acquire the knowledge and skills to serve as a DPO and help organizations comply with the GDPR’s requirements.
The training course is followed by a certification exam. After successfully passing the exam, you may apply for a “PECB Certified Data Protection Officer” certification which is UKAS accredited and internationally recognized. The certification validates your competence to advise the controller and the processor on how to meet their obligations regarding the GDPR compliance.

Prerequisites
A fundamental understanding of the GDPR and comprehensive knowledge of data protection requirements.
Examination
The “PECB Certified Data Protection Officer” exam complies with the requirements of the PECB Examination and Certification Program (ECP) and covers the following competency domains:
- Domain 1: Data protection concepts, GDPR, and compliance measures
- Domain 2: Roles and responsibilities of accountable parties for the GDPR compliance
- Domain 3: Technical and organizational measures for data protection

Certification
After successfully completing the exam, you can apply for the credentials shown on the table below:

You will receive a certificate once you comply with all the requirements related to the selected credential.
To be considered valid risk management experience, the candidate’s activities should follow best practices and include the following:
- Assisting in applying the GDPR requirements
- Monitoring a GDPR compliance program
- Providing advice on the data protection impact assessment
- Monitoring a data protection project with regard to the processing of personal data in alignment with the GDPR
General Information
- Certification and examination fees are included in the price of the training course
- Training course materials containing over 450 pages of information and practical examples will be distributed to participants
- An attestation of course completion of 35 CPD (Continuing Professional Development) credits will be issued to the participants who have attended the training course
- If you fail the exam, you can retake the exam once for free within 12 months following the initial exam date
Fulfillment
